6 Days Walking Safari
Experience the beauty of Africa on foot as you traverse beautiful landscapes, have close encounters with wildlife, learn the story of turbulent geologic past alongside the rift valley, mingle with cultural icons of the Maasai and Samburu tribes - walking safaris is the ingenious way to see and experience Africa.
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, a member of our team will meet and transfer you to your hotel in Nairobi. Settle in and unwind after your journey, as you prepare for the start of your safari adventure the following day.
Bed & Breakfast
Enjoy an early breakfast before being transferred to Wilson Airport for your scheduled flight to Nanyuki or Lewa (either works). On arrival, your dedicated safari team will greet you and take you on a scenic drive to Nayasura Camp—your first mobile tented camp and the starting point of your walking safari.
You’ll be welcomed by your expert guide and a warm team comprised of local Laikipia Maasai and Samburu staff, as well as your camel caravan. These camels will carry the camp gear along the journey, while you explore the wilderness on foot.
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast, set out for a morning walk through vast open plains and acacia-dotted bushland, heading north toward Nyarara Camp. Named after the Maasai word for cheetah, this camp honors a solitary male cheetah often seen in the area.
As you walk, scan the landscape for herds of Grevy’s and common zebra, Grant’s gazelle, and oryx on the open plains. In the thicker bush, you may spot the elusive dik-dik, gerenuk, impala, and—if you're lucky—lesser kudu.
Meanwhile, your pack camels will take a more direct route and have your camp set up by the time you arrive. You’ll reach camp in time for a refreshing drink and lunch, followed by some well-deserved rest. In the evening, enjoy a short walk to a scenic sundowner spot to toast the day’s journey.
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
This morning’s walk takes you through varying terrain as you head down toward the Ewaso Nyiro River, which marks the eastern boundary of the Laikipia Plateau before continuing its journey into Samburu.
Keep your eyes open for towering giraffes, elusive eland, and the nimble steinbuck. The changing landscape makes for a captivating walk. On arrival at the river, a quick swim may be just what you need to cool off before enjoying lunch under the shade.
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After a leisurely breakfast, enjoy your final walk of the journey toward Tumaren Camp. Nestled on a vast plain overlooking a salt lick that often attracts wildlife, this semi-permanent tented camp offers a luxurious end to your safari.
Relax in your spacious tent and soak in the serenity of the Laikipia wilderness. Tumaren is the perfect place to reflect on your adventure and enjoy a peaceful last night under the stars.
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Enjoy a final bush breakfast before your transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Nairobi. On arrival at Wilson Airport, continue your onward travel plans or connect to your international flight home.

Know your Safari Seasons
The "regular" or "dry" safari season in East Africa generally offers optimal game viewing due to reduced rainfall and vegetation, making it easier to spot wildlife. These months offer a balance between lower prices, fewer tourists, and decent game viewing.
Animals are concentrated around water, vegetation is low and sparse, and predators are circling. But at this time of year, the famous wildebeest migration is in Tanzania’s Serengeti, moving southwards following the end of year rains. Witness the Serengeti dramatic birthing season: it’s one of the best times to watch predator/prey interaction.
It’s green because it’s wet. This is the time of the ‘Long Rains’ and some of the more remote and wild reserves in East Africa are worth avoiding; accommodations may be closed anyway. Gorilla trekking becomes more difficult, and in Kenya and Tanzania’s reserves, wildlife tends to disperse across wider areas, making animals more difficult to see.
