You’ll be picked from Nairobi Serena Hotel after breakfast and taken to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to meet the baby elephants and learn more about their rescue stories and conservation efforts. This is followed by a visit to the Giraffe Centre, where you can feed and interact with the endangered Rothschild giraffes. Afterwards, head over to Cultiva Farm, our favorite garden-to-table restaurant in Nairobi, for a relaxed and delicious lunch. You will then visit the Sandstorm workshop and meet the artisans behind Nairobi’s finest leather goods before heading back to the hotel.

After an early breakfast, your driver will transfer you to Wilson Airport for your 10:00am Safarilink flight to the Maasai Mara. You’ll land at Kichwa Tembo Kiombo airstrip at 11:00am (please note: 15kg weight limit per person). Your Angama Mara guide will be waiting to greet you with a smile, and you’ll enjoy a short game drive to the lodge where you'll be welcomed with drinks and lunch. In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive across the rolling Mara plains.

Angama Mara is a world-class safari lodge with an enviable location high above Kenya’s iconic Mara Triangle, recognisable from some of the scenes filmed in Out of Africa. The Swahili word ‘Angama’ means ‘to be suspended in mid-air’, aptly so, given the property’s epic views from 1,000 feet above the plains. As it’s a luxury property in every sense, guests can expect the highest standards throughout, with excellent guiding and some of the most exquisite views in Africa. Rates are full board and include accommodation, all meals and drinks (excluding French champagne and reserve wines), game drives in the Mara Triangle, guided walking safaris on the Rift Valley escarpment, a laundry service, and transfers to and from the local airstrip.

Angama Mara comprises two separate camps – North Camp and South Camp – with 15 luxurious tented suites in each. Boasting over 100 square metres of space, including the outside deck, each open-plan room has floor-to-ceiling glass frontage with astonishing views of the Maasai Mara below. Bright red notes feature throughout the design, a nod to Maasai culture and a departure from more typical earthy safari tones. Though the structures are predominantly canvas, the interiors feel like elegant glass-fronted suites rather than tents, with super-king, extra-length beds, polished parquet floors, smart drinks cabinets, front-facing sitting areas, writing desks, and woven screens. Additional amenities include an electronic safe, a luggage rack, ceiling fans, charging points, and electric blankets in the beds for maximum comfort during the cool Mara evenings.

Each suite has a butler’s lobby for the discreet delivery of early morning tea and coffee. Separated by a screen, each en-suite bathroom features a freestanding bathtub, a rain shower, a vanity unit with double basins, and a separate flush toilet. Through sliding glass doors in the bedroom, you’ll find a spacious viewing deck furnished with rocking chairs and a small table for private dining. All units can be configured with a twin bed set-up, and it’s possible to request a triple room, accommodating two adults and a child under 12 years. Families can also have two interconnecting suites (both North and South Camp have one pair of interconnecting units).

Start your day with a sunrise game drive and picnic breakfast in the bush. Return to the lodge for lunch and some downtime, followed by another late afternoon game drive before dinner.

Rise early for a hot air balloon safari over the Maasai plains – a magical, bucket-list moment. In the afternoon, visit a traditional Maasai village to meet the locals and experience their vibrant culture. Dinner back at Angama.

Another beautiful day in the wild with morning game drives and, in the afternoon, a meaningful volunteering experience with a Maasai community project supported by the lodge.

Enjoy a relaxed morning at Angama before your 11:00am Safarilink flight back to Nairobi. You’ll have time for a snack at the airport lounge before connecting to your afternoon flight to Diani. Upon arrival, someone from Alfajiri Villas will be waiting to transfer you to your stunning beachside villa. Ease into beach life with a sunset cruise and drinks, followed by dinner back at the villa.

Spend your day at leisure – relax by your private pool, head to the beach, or choose to play a round of golf. End the day with a sunset cruise and dinner at the villa.

After breakfast, head out for a dolphin-watching and snorkeling excursion in the Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park aboard traditional dhows. Lunch will be a feast of Swahili coastal seafood before returning to Alfajiri to unwind. Dinner and cocktails out at Salty Squid by the beach.

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your 11:25am Safarilink flight back to Nairobi Wilson, arriving at 12:35pm. Drivers will be on standby to take you for lunch and some final shopping before dropping you off at JKIA in time for your international flight home.
